Dream Girl Taylor Louderman Dished On What Happened When She Finally Got Cast in Mean Girls On Broadway

Taylor Louderman may have auditioned for the original Broadway cast of Mean Girls, but the universe had other plans.

"I auditioned for the first Broadway cast of Mean Girls and everybody that I knew got cast and I didn't and I was devastated," the 27-year-old actress told POPSUGAR. "I was like, 'Oh my gosh! This is my dream show. I know that if I got to do it, I would be a great Cady Heron.'"

But as we know, sometimes the best things come to those who wait. And though Louderman didn't make it into the original Broadway production, she eventually landed the role of the show's protagonist when the musical made its way to the West End in London in 2019.

"I was actually sitting at the POPSUGAR office, having just done an interview for Pitch Perfect 3," she recalled. "And they were like, 'Oh, and BTW, do you want to play Cady Heron in the West End?' And I was like, 'What?! Yes!'"

Louderman played the role of Cady Heron for six months in London before bringing her signature spunk and optimism to Broadway for another six months. Not to mention, she performed the role in Los Angeles and on tour across the United States.

The actress even got to recreate her iconic Tony performance for the film adaptation of the Broadway musical, which was released on Paramount+ in May 2022.

Now, with 69 wins and 121 nominations under her belt, Louderman is finally getting the recognition she deserves for her undeniable talent. And while she's proud of everything she's accomplished, she's especially grateful for the journey that led her to the role of Cady Heron.

"I feel like I got the best of both worlds," she said. "I got to come in with a fresh set of eyes and I got to be my own Cady Heron."

Congratulations to Taylor Louderman on all of her success! We can't wait to see what she does next.
